Criteria for Model School Designation
Designated a Gurian Institute Model School, a school agrees to the following:
-
Provide Gurian Institute training to all staff/administration of the school
-
Provide parent presentations on Boys and Girls Learn Differently, open to general community
-
Send representative(s) to the annual Summer Institute in Colorado Springs
-
Agree to provide the Gurian Institute Training Division (GITD) with ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of gender-specific strategies that have been implemented
-
Agree to provide annual test score and other success data with the GITD
-
Allow GITD to share information about the school with other schools so that they can benefit from the experiences of the Model School
-
Upon receipt of Model School designation, the school will send a press release to local media sharing the information
-
The Model School will identify itself as a Gurian Institute Model School whenever appropriate in marketing and PR materials
Model School designation is for an initial 3-year period. During that time, the Model School agrees to continue providing in-service training for staff, faculty and parents. The in-service training will be facilitated by a GITD Certified Trainer.
If the Model School sponsors certification for a trainer from their school, that trainer may provide in-service training to model school staff only to meet this requirement.
