Tim has taught a wide range of students in a great variety of school cultures over the past 20 years. His experience includes independent, public, international, all-boys and coeducational schools. His work began as a teacher, priest and Form Master in the all-boys, Cistercian Preparatory School, in Irving, Texas. There, Tim had the opportunity to teach ancient and modern languages, science and theology and enjoyed the privilege of mentoring boys from ages 10 to 18.

After leaving Cistercian, Tim began both a family and a career in international education. He and his wife worked in Southeast Asia for five years at the International School of Kuala Lumpur. Then it was back to the US and Cape Cod to teach at Sturgis Charter Public School, an open enrollment public high school in which all students participate in an International Baccalaureate curriculum. Presently, the Cobles are living in the Middle East, working at the American School of Doha in Qatar.

The international schools are coeducational and multicultural institutions with families from 40 to 50 different countries in attendance. Students at such schools belong to some of the most highly mobile families in today’s societies.
