Shameka McPherson - Certified Trainer

Shameka McPherson earned her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership at the University of Phoenix. 

After teaching in Florida for two years, Shameka brought her expertise to Lansing, MI where she’s been an educator for four years.  Subsequent to serving as a 4^th grade lead teacher and ELL Coordinator, Shameka advanced to Academic Specialist.  As an Academic Specialist, she has joined the administrative team and her responsibilities include work as a staff developer, trainer, mentor, and curriculum designer.   

Shameka also serves as a student liaison bridging the gap between regular and special education in her role as director of the RtI (Response to Intervention) Program.  Her zeal and personal interest for learning how the brain works has lead to a year long independent study, which continues to date.  Shameka’s personal philosophy and career mission is to challenge every child to reach the fullest of their potential.
