Denise is currently a 3rd grade Single Gender all boy teacher at James Academy of Excellence in Tampa, Florida. Her school has been chosen to participate in the Voluntary Public Schools Choice Grant Program.  Having been trained in the strategies on how to effectively implement Single Gender classrooms, Denise has presented to teachers, staff and parents, and mentors new Single Gender teachers. Denise is a Certified Trainer for the Gurian Institute.

She graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, with concentration in elementary education in 2003.  She also received a Masters Degree in Education from Strayer University in 2008.  With a love for children and concern for their education, she is certified in PreK-3rd grade and Exceptional Education K-12.  Denise has over 25 years experience in working in the non-profit sector, with the major focus being on children education issues, and 10 years as a classroom teacher.

She serves parents and students in her community in Tampa  through an outreach program, as Director and coordinator of K.E.Y.S.  4 Success (Keep Educating Yourself 4 Success). Much of this work is done in the economically disadvantaged communities,  which provides free GED tutoring, tutoring for K-12 students, summer reading and math enrichment, and school supplies.  Denise lives in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Kenneth, and has four sons and six grandchildren (two boys and four girls!)   A 25 year cancer survivor, she  encourages women not to give up and educating yourself.
