Bruce Ivany - Certified Trainer

Bruce has more than 30 years experience as an educator teaching Grade 4-12, as an elementary and secondary counselor, elementary vice principal and principal, junior high principal, and for the past ten years as Assistant Superintendent for the Abbotsford School District.

He is a certified trainer with the Gurian Institute and has conducted sessions for schools, districts, and parents on the topic of How Boys and Girls Learn Differently.  In the past few years he has presented at the yearly Middle Years Association of B.C. Conference, THRIVE- Centre for Positive Youth Development National Conference,  the B.C. Crime Prevention Conference,  B.C. Victim Services Conference, B.C. Parent Advisory Council Conference, Smarter Families Conference and to many community groups.

Bruce is also a senior trainer with the Lions Quest programs and has conducted over 85 workshops throughout North America inservicing teachers and parents on positive youth development.  He is also a trainer in the area of building developmental assets in school communities.
